Are you jumping on the trend of throwing a pumpkin carving party?

Halloween week is almost upon us, and nothing says Halloween quite like carved pumpkins! Hosting pumpkin carving parties, and even competitions, for family and friends has become a new trend. If you are jumping on board and hosting a party this weekend we have some ideas to help make it fun for everyone!
First we suggest you keep things easy and casual. You are going to get messy when carving and scraping out the pumpkin, so keeping everything light and easy will not only save you time on decorating but also clean up. Set up a few folding tables with disposable table cloths, a few pumpkin carving tools and designs for everyone to use. Top it off with some music and let the pumpkins be the decorations.
Of course you will want some food to snack on while working, creating a grazing table or buffet with small finger foods will keep everyone happy. Don't spend time making an elaborate meal, keep it simple. Everyone is going to want to focus on why they are there in the first place.; ...

Struggling to save up for a down payment? You have options!

Struggling to come up with a down payment?  You're not alone.  According to a recent survey from Apartment List, 62% of millennial renters say that's their main reason for delaying buying a home. Of that group, 48% say they have no money for a down payment.
Saving thousands of dollars can feel overwhelming but luckily there are several options to help realize the dream of owning your own home. Not all of the programs are publicized. That's where working with a REALTOR can help! Here are some tips to help you find the right down payment assistance for you.

The first thing we recommend is to ask your REALTOR or lender. They would be able to help guide you to programs best matching your criteria or, at the very least, put you on the right track.

If you do not have a REALTOR yet, start with a national search. When you search for programs that aren't connected to a specific location, you give yourself more options. Doing your own research will not only make; ...

Builder Confidence Hit A 2019 High!

Right now builder confidence has hit a high for 2019. According to National Association of Home Builders, the Wells Fargo Housing Market Index which measures builders attitudes, has reached a record 68 points this month.
The index has been holding in the mid 60 range since May of this year. Readings that are above 50 points are considered positive and show that builders are confident in moving forward with new construction. Low interest rates and a solid demand are continuing to fuel builders sentiments even thought there have been some ongoing supply challenges that have hindered the affordability of the housing being built.
National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Chief Economist Robert Dietz says, "Solid should formations and attractive mortgage rates are contributing to a positive builder outlook. However, builders are expressing growing concerns regarding uncertainty stemming from the trade dispute with China."  NAHB's home building index does indicate that the s2 ...
